Advanced Sr. Technician for Applus RTD USA, Inc. (Houston, TX)
Perform advanced non-destructive testing (“NDT”) inspections yearly on pipelines and vessels for projects onshore & offshore at client sites within U.S & international waters. Perform advanced ultrasonic inspection of new construction girth welds for offshore & onshore industry using phased array and ToFD for difficult inspection testing. Build, set up, calibrate, maintain AUT scanners for girth weld inspections & corrosion survey inspections. Responsible for completion of inspection incl. initial interpretation, reporting & billing. Apply knowledge of scope & methods of NDT used & provide on-the-job training & guidance to Technicians and Sr. Technicians regarding the same. Oversee quality assurance/quality control of crews & serve as customer interface for crews on same work assignments or locations. Perform initial advanced ultrasonic inspections for new construction pipeline girth welds AND annual pipeline integrity inspections on existing pipeline. Perform scheduled yearly maintenance for pipeline & refinery shutdowns, & provide metallurgical integrity inspections for oil and gas transmission pipeline projects in addition to new construction & maintenance inspections projects.
3 yrs. exp. as NDT technician performing advanced ultrasonic inspections of new construction girth welds for offshore & onshore industry. Must have NDT ultrasonic certifications in compliance with ISO 9712. Travel: 60% in U.S. (of which 30% is offshore in U.S. coastal waters) plus 20% international waters Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen.
