    Position Purpose

    • Responsibility of Senior Engineer I is to capture, initiate, and lead projects covering fit-ness-for-service, fitness-for-purpose, third party verification and validation, failure investigation & assessment, mechanical integrity, integrity management, fatigue & life extension studies, regulatory compliance, and fundamental engineering research in oil & gas industry with particular focus on pipelines.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Conduct business development
    • Initiate, execute, and close out projects within time and budget
    • Work independently or lead project teams
    • Assist colleagues in execution of their projects
    • Prepare proposals and research ideas
    • Respond to RFQs and RFPs
    • Prepare technical reports and presentations
    • Develop and conduct training workshops
    • Perform fitness-for-service, verification, validation, compliance, failure investigation, fatigue estimate, life extension projects and studies
    • Implement company guidelines for initiating projects, monitoring of budgets, and tracking of invoices
    • Travel to client sites as required to support project execution
    • Represent company at industry conferences and committees as and when required
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Champion company QHSE standards
    • Implement company guidelines in maintaining a safe, healthy, and professional environment

    Knowledge and Skills

    • As a minimum, must possess extensive knowledge of Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Parts 192 and 195, as well as industry codes and standards such ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, ASME B31.8S, API 579, and BS 7910
    • Understanding of pipeline integrity and issues that affect pipeline serviceability
    • Familiarity with and experience in use of engineering software packages (ANSYS, ABAQUS, MathCad, Matlab, and such like)
    • Familiarity with statistical methodologies and their practical application in engineering
    • In-depth knowledge of pipe-soil interaction analysis and ability to perform such analysis
    • Sound understanding of geophysics
    • Ability to work on several assignments and projects
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
    • Ability to lead, work, and cooperate in a team environment
    • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite of products

    Education and Work Experience

    • Masters of Science or PhD in a relevant engineering discipline
    • 10+ years of experience in design, engineering, analysis
    • 5+ years of numerical analysis with strong emphasis on complex finite element modeling
    • 3+ years of supervisory experience in an engineering or consultancy environment
    • Extensive knowledge of, and applied experience in, pipeline failure modes, fracture mechanics, and fatigue

    Certificates and Licenses Required

    • Professional Engineering (PE) License is preferred.

    • Sedentary work: Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met
    • Close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading at distances close to the eyes

    Working Conditions

    • The physical environment requires the employee to work inside an office environment, protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes
    • Occasional visits to field sites will require employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions in temperature extremes and inclement weather
    • Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials and working environment
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate
    • Ability to travel when required (15%)
