    We offer a broad range of consulting services including fitness for service assessments, failure analysis and welding, external loading analysis and training workshops.   

    Position Purpose

     

    • The main function of the Engineer I is to provide engineering consulting generally related to evaluation of pipelines and components in an oil & gas environment to help our clients evaluate if their infrastructure is reliable and meets regulation standards.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Research and prepare project proposals for existing or new customers including bidding and securing new work under direction of supervisor or other senior technical staff.
    • Review initial project data and develop initial analysis for review by the senior technical staff.
    • Provide information to clients by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations under direction of supervisor or other senior technical staff.
    • Ensure required project set up documentation is submitted, project budgets are tracked, and the invoice is accurate to meet client requirements.
    • Communicate independently with clients in support of project execution and business development activities.
    • Travel to the client sites as required to support project execution.
    • Ensure service excellence by measuring key performance indicators such as client satisfaction, sales goals, and corporate initiatives and targets.
    • Perform all other duties as assigned.

    • Ability to work independently while having the critical judgement to request assistance when necessary.
    • Ability to multi-task and properly execute multiple simultaneous assignments under pressure and tight deadlines.
    • Ability to communicate and cooperate with diverse groups of people.
    • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills including technical writing and presenting skills.
    • Must have working knowledge of MS Office Suite of products.

    Education and Work Experience

    • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Civil or Metallurgical engineering or other science discipline.
    • Internship in oil and gas industry.

    Certificates and Licenses Required

    • Engineer-in-Training (EIT), preferred.

    Working Conditions

    • The physical environment requires the employee to work inside an office environment, protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes
    • Occasional visits to field sites will require employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions in temperature extremes and inclement weather
    • Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials and working environment
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate
    • Must be physically located in Columbus, OH
    • Ability to travel when required, nationally, up to 15% of the time
