Position Purpose

  • The main function of the HSE and Technical Coordinator is to assist in administrative activities for our corporate HSE Department(s) in carrying out responsibility for documentation preparation and maintenance of HSE documents, statistics, and information along with coordinating of safety communication.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting the North America (NOAM) HSE Director with documentation preparation including high quality preparation and periodically updating / reviewing the NOAM Environmental Health and Safety Manual, forms, procedures, and other related HSE documentation
  • Assisting with HSE documentation and standardization including organization, review, and policy / procedure updates and suggestions
  • Compiling and reviewing the required federal safety statistics for the Business Unit NOAM and each of the regional offices with the Regional HSE Manager(s)
  • Assisting in managing the Drug and Alcohol Program for the USA including verification of training and compliance with policy, maintenance of statistics, and providing the required legislative and client specific reporting requirements
  • Maintaining client specific HSE databases such as ISNetworld, Veriforce, PEC, etc. This includes data entry of new hires, quarterly statistic updates, HSE updates, and client specific updates and requirements.
  • Maintain Employee Training Records and this includes use of both web based systems and company software to record, maintain and pre-notify for subsequent employee training.
  • Create high quality HSE documents, communications and presentations for distribution under corporate guidelines and the guidance of the HSE Director.
  • Assist with employee safety onboarding ensure a good safety introduction for all new employees
  • Assisting and supporting the regional offices in meeting required deadlines and goals
  • Assist in the coordination of company meetings, functions, and training events
  • Miscellaneous clerical duties such as copying, binding, and laminating
  • Follow and enforce the Company required safe work practices and procedures at all times.
  • Follow and enforce Company policies at all times including the Code of Ethics and Anti-Corruption.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, professionalism, and promote a positive customer service attitude internally and externally
  • Enforce and abide the requirements of safe operation and personal safety using required Personal Protective Equipment and Safe Practices per company policy
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills

  • Must have general knowledge of environmental health and safety laws and rules..
  • Ability to multi-task and properly execute multiple simultaneous assignments
  • Ability to communicate and cooperate with diverse groups of people.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite of products; excel, power point, word, and publisher.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision.

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelors or Associates degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 years of applicable environmental health and safety work experience required.
  • Experience in using customer web based pre-qualifications systems such as IsNetWorld, Veriforce, PEC, PIC, TransAdvisor, BROWZ, and other web based systems used in training.

Working Conditions

  • Must be physically located in Sugar Land, Texas
  • The physical environment requires the employee to work inside an office environment, protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • May be requested to work overtime and weekends occasionally
