Position Purpose

  • The Lead Financial & Operations Analyst is a key member of the operations and finance team, responsible for providing continuous support to the divisions, regional leadership teams, and office managers within the North America region. This includes shared responsibility in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial reporting, review of the operating activities, and the compilation of consolidated summary and variance reports to operations/process owners. The ideal candidate must ensure data integrity at all time and possess an ability to identify, articulate, and incorporate process improvements at a regional level. Additional responsibilities include assisting with business unit budget preparation, coordinating the consolidation of monthly forecasts, and performing detailed analyses of financials and key performance metrics. This position also assists with the implementation of new financial standards and the development and maintenance of corporate policies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for monthly close activities for all cost centers and departments assigned
  • Prepare and compile monthly reporting and analysis of financial results, executive summary and key performance indicator reports to senior management using both established and ad-hoc reports at a division, region, and department level
  • Participate in the compilation, maintenance and variance reporting of budgets and forecasts including but not limited to revenue, expense, balance sheet, working capital, operating cash flow, headcount and hours
  • Act as primary liaison between finance and operation leaders in assigned functional areas; drive accountability
  • Partner with department owners to develop annual overall budgets
  • Responsible for updating SAP BPC system as and when required
  • Work closely with operation leaders to provide both short and long term working capital and cash flow forecasting
  • Lead business case preparation to assess the strategic and financial returns on key initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to help operation leaders meet operating plans
  • Consolidate monthly process metrics, dashboards and scorecards and explain variances to metrics and service levels
  • Provide administration of the company Performance Recognition Plan (incentive plan), computing payout in based upon performance against critical metrics
  • Prepare cost-volume-profit and capital investment analysis for key projects within the business unit areas
  • Assess reporting problems, recommend effective solutions, and execute on process improvement opportunities
  • Support the development and implementation of new policies & procedures
  • Often work with other departments and their personnel to coordinate retrieval and reporting functions
  • Schedule, plan, coordinate, and review project activities
  • Develop business domain knowledge over time
  • Participate in and lead additional reporting and analytical related projects
  • Perform ad-hoc projects as assigned
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

  • Understanding of the Inspection and Non Destructive Testing industry will be an advantage
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access skills highly preferred
  • Proficiency of both MS Dynamics and SAP systems highly preferred

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA highly preferred
  • 5+ years of exceptional knowledge and ability to elaborate, analyze and process financial statement, forecast, month end close, budget, cash flow, KPI, dashboard, etc.
  • Strong leadership skills required
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas and/or inspection and testing industries preferred
  • Strong track records and experiences in financial modeling, data mining, and problem solving
  • Experience automating complex reports in Excel highly preferred
  • Proficient in financial tools such as Hyperion Essbase, JDEdwards, Hyperion, and MS Dynamics AX
  • Experience in working with cross functional projects involving multiple departments

Certificates and Licenses Required

  • CMA highly preferred
